Forest are generally the raw materials for wood, timber and even the source for fresh air. Scientifically, the rain that we get involved the trees in its cycle.  Many people have also been able to find food for themselves from the trees. Since the beginning of time before man began constructing houses, they usually resided in trees for security from the wild animals. Up to date, some communities in the African continents still construct and live in tree houses. This means that we have to co-exist with nature in order to survive. But over time, men saw the need to construct homes. They turned to the forest to provide them with the raw materials that they needed specifically timber. This is what has led to the growth and development of the wood industry. Generally, a wood industry is an entity that majorly deals with logging, trading of timbers, and also the production and selling of products made out of wood. It’s usually a sector in the private economy.  In today’s economy, the wood industry plays a very crucial role. We depend on the industry for a lot of items that we use on a daily basis. The products that are made from wood vary either as being made out of soft wood or hard wood. This will cause a difference in the price. Majorly, the soft wood is used in the making of paper and pulp while the hard wood is used in the making of wooden floors and also furniture. Although they are different, both the hardwood and soft wood can be used during the construction process. 

You may be wondering how the production chain occurs. Typically, the process is simple. First logging must be done. This is the cutting down of trees. It’s done using harvesters which are usually large. The next process is to cut the trunks of the trees which have been cut down. They are cut in lumber mills. Some companies have built their names as some of the best when it comes to matters relating to timber. The wood industry has workers who must also be protected. They are to be protected from the effects of the noise that they are exposed to. As a result, this industry has been able to reduce cases of loss of hearing as compared to other industries. The allowed noise level should be between fifteen to nineteen percent these industries exceed to twenty-one percent. The industries are able to reduce the level of noise by using machines and equipment that are less noisy. It can be seen as the best method to control this. Also according to a survey done recently, the number of workers in the wood industry who died has increased by over twenty percent.
